Rimadyl And Kidney Problems Canine Medical Experts: Do You Agree With My Vet's Course Of Treatment?

Canine Medical Experts: Do you agree with my vet's course of treatment? - rimadyl and kidney problems

Saved my 5 years old, male Shih Tzu was impossible for almost 2 months of worsening symptoms. And allergies are generally unpleasant. He was very ill at the front (bow legs, seen as my vet has never had) and his back) is too far (like a Dachsund and is therefore ideal for the pain!

Let me begin by saying that the treatment plan that I started the medicine yesterday, and I make no jokes begin ... He was walking on the morning for the first time in a month. Recently it after only 1 / 4 miles and it will take them home.

DRUGS:
Zyrtec 5 mg twice daily
Rimadyl 25 mg twice daily
Cosequin DS 1 capsule per day

He believes that Zyrtec very, very safe and effective for the treatment of allergies without drowsiness. As for the Rimadyl, I am a little bit about this drug because of Assoc w / kidney problems involved. Those who are not used long term, but only for now to calm things.

Opinions?
What should I watch for a reaction to Rimadyl?

I am sure that Rimadyl will go well. Especially if you can not be used long term. For now he is in pain. I have seen dogs on Rimadyl for years without problems. If you are really interested, there is a new drug that does not sideeffects of Rimadyl. I do not know his name for the life of me. If you ask your vet I am sure she will be able to say. You are on the newer side, it is probably more expensive.

I am sure that your dog will be assigned a fine. Stay in touch with your vet to know for you if you drank a change in their daily behavior as a lot, urinating a lot or if it seems to be in pain. Give many hugs and kisses and relax. Take the advantage of being a dog in less pain and can be things that he should do in the situation. Good luck
